Urban Studies
Sascha Gianella, Curator, 2009 Aurélien Bergot’s interest in his Urban Studies series lies with the notion of limit and power. His works are a visual consideration of contemporary peri-urban morphology associated with Swiss towns, in particular, the peripheral regions surrounding Geneva. The frontal documentary aspect of his images attempt to show how sociopolitical characteristics impact upon urban environments or indeed quite the contrary, how urban peripheral development imposes upon and isolate subsectors of society. |
